Job Description :

The role involves analysing requirements, developing a proof of concept, developing, building, testing and then transferring to production solutions to leading edge data storage problems.

Basic Requirements :

A need to know how things work, a desire to fix them if they dont and an urge to improve them!
Expect to achieve, or already have, a 2:1 honours degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline such as aeronautical engineering
A passion for IT
A keen interest in technology generally; a hunger to develop your knowledge of storage technology such that you fully understand our existing products and contribute to innovation in our new products
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Excellent problem solving skills with a willingness to take ownership of difficult problems
Excellent teamwork skills
Willing to travel overseas

Additional Requirements :

The following requirements are beneficial but not essential:
Knowledge of fluid dynamics as applied to cooling systems
Vibration measurement, analysis and control
Some experience in complex plastic mouldings, sheet metal and castings
A good understanding of process design constraints and tolerancing
Experience using Autodesk Inventor, computational fluid dynamics software such as FloTherm, and finite element analysis software such as Pro-E Creo
